The Word became flesh and blood and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, Generous inside and out, true from start to finish. John 1:14

We follow Jesus' example by living amongst the peoples. We believe Detroit is going through a renewal that we hope will be a lasting spiritual transformation. Our team currently lives in two locations.

The neighborhood we live in is still struggling to overcome the brokenness that ensued from systematic injustice, greed and racism that inevitably resulted in race riots and a mass exodus of peoples from the city. Detroit's population is currently around 50% of what it was at its peak. This abandonment followed by the crack epidemic of the 80’s and 90’s has left in its wake extreme poverty, broken families,  drugs, prostitution and blight.

. Hamtramck is a city entity that is surrounded by Detroit.  It was the first city entity in our nation to be led by a majority Muslim city council. The Muslim call to prayer is broadcast on its streets. Its  residents have arrived from Bangladesh, Yemen, Iraq, Bosnia and Albania to join the older established Polish and African American communities.
